Terms of Use

Last updated: August 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Mobass LLC (“we,” “us”) covering your use of Scrolls (“the App”). By using the App you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

The Service

The App presents the Bible one verse at a time, and offers short study notes for a verse when you tap it. Scripture is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain.

The Study Notes Are Commentary

The study notes are generated by an artificial intelligence model and reviewed against a fixed set of rules. They are commentary intended to explain a passage in plain English. They are not the voice of God, not a substitute for your own reading of scripture, not the teaching of any church or denomination, and not guaranteed to be free of error. Where scholars disagree about a passage, a short note cannot settle it. Read the scripture itself; it is right there on the screen above the notes.

Not Professional Advice

The App does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not pastoral counselling or spiritual direction. If you are struggling, please speak to a doctor, a counsellor, or someone you trust.

Not a Crisis Service

The App is not monitored and cannot respond to you. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number, or in the United States call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

Acceptable Use

Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the App or the servers behind it, and do not use it in any unlawful way.

Subscriptions

Scrolls is a paid app offered as an auto-renewing subscription, purchased through your Apple account. Two options are offered: a weekly plan, and a yearly plan with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. The exact price is always shown in the App before you subscribe; the price and billing period shown to you at the moment of purchase are the ones that apply.

Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

If you start the free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription and your account is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.

Intellectual Property

Scripture in the App is the World English Bible and is in the public domain. The study notes, the mascot, the name, the design, and the software are ours or our licensors’. You may share individual verses and notes personally; you may not copy the App’s content in bulk, or use it to train a machine learning model, without our permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the study notes are accurate or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mobass LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
